About The Position

EJ has immediate openings for 2nd Shift DC Assembly/Shipping. EJ is a family-owned company with global operations, headquartered in East Jordan, Michigan, where it was founded in 1883. The company is a leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of access solutions for water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications, and utility networks. The role involves safely driving industrial equipment to load and move materials, as well as assemble and package castings.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instruction, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Fork Truck License

Responsibilities

  • Uses power and/or hand tools per work instruction database and associated information systems.
  • Drives industrial equipment to move materials.
  • Uses computer to obtain and/or input information.
  • May aid in training of others.
  • May be assigned to different jobs within the department.
  • Assist in shipping/receiving activity within the Distribution Center; packaging/loading product, and assembly of castings.
  • Provides suggestion for improvement of all our systems.
  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
