About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals aged 16 and older to serve as lifeguards. This position offers the opportunity to develop important skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility that will benefit you for a lifetime. Lifeguards will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with opening shifts available for those who prefer early hours.

Requirements

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course
• Passionate about safety around water and strong swim skills
• Age 16 or older

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants
• Understanding and applying organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing
