About The Position

General Purpose: Support the athletic programs and events through maintenance of campus grounds and athletic equipment and facilities: including gymnasiums, locker rooms, rest rooms, common areas, and sports fields Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance of fields and running track, to include mowing, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, painting lines, grading, sprinkler system functionality, irrigation repairs, tree trimming, snow removal, windscreens, and other tasks as assigned Maintain campus grounds to include parking lot medians, sidewalk borders, parking lot borders, and property easement Assess, report, and respond to evening snow removal and grounds maintenance to keep safe access to athletic facilities and fields. Additional compensation for overtime may be appropriate. Maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of athletic equipment as needed Perform daily custodial operations of the athletics facility and assigned areas; to include bathrooms, locker rooms, gym floors, entryways, outdoor access to athletics facilities, bleachers, indoor and outdoor trash removal Sporting event (games or practices) set-up, support, and tear down if occurring during shift Maintain the upkeep of the athletics facility and furniture to include repairs, painting, and cleaning, including the management of waste disposal Perform daily custodial operations including cleaning of offices, restrooms, stairways, closets, gymnasium, locker rooms, and entryways Perform routine and special project work on the athletic facilities and sports fields (i.e. hanging banners, adjusting cameras, painting, changing light bulbs, etc.) Assist the Facility Manager in the maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the athletics facilities Respond to calls for athletics custodial support during shift Assess, report, and respond to any athletics incidents or emergency situations in communication with the Facility Manager Assure athletic facilities are secure at end of shift (locks, doors, lights, and gates) Follow Universal Standard Precautions and safety protocol when appropriate Attend all training as assigned by the Facility Manager Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, or working conditions associated with this job. Requirements

  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform duties with minimal oversight
  • Prior leadership role and/or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Works well on a team
  • Enthusiasm for working in a school environment, serving its students and staff
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Landscaping and irrigation experience a must.
  • 2-5 years prior experience in a maintenance or custodial role.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred
