About The Position

Reporting to the Centre Director, acts as an integral member of the Inspire Early Education team to assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking at the kitchen through the conscientious application of Inspire Early Education standards to achieve our mission statement.

Requirements

Current Food Handler Certification
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Require a clean criminal record check
Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds

Nice To Haves

Experience in a daycare environment would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
Maintain children’s allergy list regularly.
Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies, and replenishing dishware and cookware
Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time depending on the needs of the daycare centers.
