About The Position

The Diesel Mechanic position involves maintaining and repairing a fleet of over 200 vehicles at a prominent distribution center in the Pacific Northwest. Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must have one year of truck and/or trailer repair experience.
  • Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 75 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with steering and suspension systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair class A trucks and reefer trailers.
  • Maintain and service all equipment to Federal DOT standards.
  • Inspect and replace worn brake components.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Keep documentation on all repairs and communicate the status of downed vehicles to the shop manager and dispatch.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or ensure they are working properly.
