About The Position

The role involves supervising, guiding, and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities, adhering to a structured schedule of volunteer, recreational, and life skills activities within a community setting. The required schedule is: FULL-TIME Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Own transportation to and from work and between work sites
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 21 +
  • Must be able to attend and pass and maintain agency provided (Paid) trainings
  • Demonstrated ability to enter notes for services and billing in an electronic health records system
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to provide Professional References during the Application Process

Responsibilities

  • Supervise program participants in line with their service plan's supervision guidelines (which may include line-of-sight supervision) during both facility and community-based activities.
  • Engage in all scheduled activities with participants, including swimming, exercise, skill-building, gardening/farming, fishing, domestic tasks such as laundry and dishwashing, and various outdoor activities.
  • Safely transport individuals to volunteer sites in an agency vehicle, adhering to the speed limits and guidelines outlined in the Our House, Inc. Safe Driving Policy, which includes driving on highways and over long distances.
  • Maintain the appropriate ratio as specified in each individual's service plan during both facility and community-based activities.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and security of the program site, which includes performing general cleaning tasks as necessary.
  • Assist with participants' toileting needs, which may involve changing adult incontinence products/feminine hygiene products, cleaning after bowel movements or urination, and cleaning the surrounding area after accidents.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings and quarterly all-agency staff meetings.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working with various program participants and at different program sites as needed.
