About The Position

AHRC NYC is holding a HIRING EVENT with ON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS! for Full and Part-Time Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for multiple Bronx Day Programs. DATE & TIME: TUESDAY MARCH 31st from 10AM-1PM LOCATION: Recruiter will provide specific address for qualified candidates. FULL-TIME POSITIONS: Pay Rate: $18 - $20.20 per hour depending on driving status and AMAP certification. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below. Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm (35hours per week). Requirements

Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
High School diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
