About The Position

The Day Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the CE Campbell Generation facility located at 4406. This position ensures that all common areas, restrooms, and workspaces are clean, well-stocked, and presentable throughout the day, contributing to a positive environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. The Day Porter is responsible for promptly addressing any spills, trash removal, and minor maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards and prevent hazards. By performing these duties efficiently, the Day Porter supports the smooth operation of the facility and enhances the overall experience of everyone on site. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with facility management as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance roles preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with a commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work independently during daytime hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a large facility or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and facility safety procedures.
  • Basic maintenance or handyman skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers or buffers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas throughout the day.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms by restocking supplies, cleaning fixtures, and ensuring a hygienic environment.
  • Respond promptly to spills, debris, or other hazards to maintain a safe environment for all facility occupants.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, reporting repair needs, and setting up or rearranging furniture as required.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning during shifts.
  • Communicate effectively with facility management regarding any issues, supply needs, or safety concerns observed during the shift.
