Day Porter/Janitor
About The Position
Full-Time Day Porter – School/Church Facility (Westlake, OH) 📍 Westlake, OH 🕒 Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM JV Janitorial Services, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter to support one of our valued clients in Westlake — a shared school and church environment. This is a highly visible role that plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming space for students, staff, parishioners, and visitors throughout the day. This position works independently throughout the day while remaining highly visible and responsive to the needs of the facility.
Requirements
- Strong attendance and punctuality — reliability is key in this role
- Ability to work independently and stay on task in a busy environment
- Comfortable working around children and staff during school hours
- Ability to pass a background check (required for school/church setting)
- Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- Previous cleaning or porter experience is a plus, but we will train the right person
Responsibilities
- Maintain restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas throughout the day
- Monitor and restock supplies (paper products, soap, etc.)
- Respond to spills and immediate cleaning needs in real time
- Perform routine trash removal and recycling
- Support light setup and breakdown for school or church activities
- Spot mop, vacuum, and maintain floor appearance throughout your shift
- Communicate any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Interact professionally with staff, students, and visitors
