About The Position

The Security Guard position at our cannabis retail store is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and employees. This role requires a reliable individual who can demonstrate vigilance, integrity, and professionalism while managing security operations. The guard will be responsible for monitoring the premises, de-escalating potential conflicts, and ensuring compliance with ID verification protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to remain alert and active throughout their shift.

Requirements

• 21+ years of age and able to pass a background check.
• 2+ years of security experience.
• Concealed Pistol License (CPL) required.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Previous military or police enforcement experience preferred.
• Have tactical equipment such as a kevlar vest and handcuffs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Being alert at an assigned post at all times to ensure personal safety.
• Monitor the facilities, inside and outside.
• Investigate irregularities around the premises, in the parking lot, and throughout the building.
• De-escalate any situation that arises from customers.
• Provide quality customer service by greeting people pleasantly.
• Provide traffic control as needed.
• Monitor security/camera systems.
• Receive cross-training on all contracted posts to assist during emergencies.
• Practice all company safety rules and procedures.
