About The Position

The Camp Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple program areas and providing guidance and support to camp leads and counselors. This role focuses on delivering high-quality experiences for campers while embodying the YMCA core values of caring, equity, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED certification (may be obtained upon hire).
• Minimum of two seasons of experience in camp, youth programs, or related fields.
• Possess or acquire required certifications for specific program areas.
• Ability to keep accurate records and organize program logistics.
• Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to attend and complete all required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate camp programming appropriate for staff and campers.
• Assist in administrative duties and manage programs, including staff training and meetings.
• Implement camp program schedules and manage budgets for supplies and materials.
• Provide work direction to camp leads and counselors.
• Supervise and organize campers and staff to meet intended camper outcomes.
• Apply Social Emotional Learning concepts and youth development principles in interactions with campers and staff.
• Communicate effectively with individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels.
• Maintain high standards for health and safety in all activities.
• Manage and care for physical facilities and equipment for the program.
• Serve as a role model for campers and staff in attitude and behavior.
• Represent the camp in interactions with families, volunteers, and community members.
