About The Position
Are you ready for an exciting and fulfilling summer experience? The City of Wentzville is on the look out for a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Day Camp Counselor. This is not just a job; it's a chance to be the driving force behind unforgettable camp activities and create lasting memories for campers. Under direct supervision, the Day Camp Counselor will provide direction and care for a group of children while providing fun, educational, and engaging camp activities for all campers. The Day Camp Counselor will also work with peers and supervisors to implement and instruct the activities. This is a part-time position, not to exceed an average of 29 hours per week. This job posting will remain open until filled.
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age is required.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required.
- Ability to develop a basic competency level in the area of operation.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
- Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
- Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty.
- The job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
