About The Position

Responsible for the precise setup and operation of Davenport machines to manufacture parts according to specifications. Ensures safety, efficiency, and quality throughout all machining processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 months of relevant training or experience.
  • Must pass appropriate testing to advance in the ABC program.
  • Long periods of standing with occasional walking and sitting.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to operate technical equipment, with repetitive motion and fine motor tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Mechanical: Machine/tool operation and maintenance.
  • Production: Quality control and manufacturing processes.
  • English: Reading, writing, and comprehension of work documents.
  • Attention to Detail and Time Management.
  • Active Listening and Clear Communication.
  • Reading blueprints and using measuring tools.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making during machine setup and operation.
  • Manual Dexterity and Multi-limb Coordination.
  • Arm-hand steadiness and control precision.
  • Visual acuity (near vision) and oral comprehension.
  • Physical strength and stamina for repetitive tasks.

  • Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints and layout sheets to determine required machining operations and tolerances.
  • Plan and sequence machining steps for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Select tools, cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut based on knowledge or provided specifications.
  • Set up machines, including installing collets, bushings, and cutting tools.
  • Load material and operate machines through complete cycles.
  • Inspect sample workpieces and adjust machine settings as needed.
  • Replace worn tools and monitor ongoing production for quality and efficiency.
  • Uphold Positronic’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
