Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in datacom, low‑voltage, electrical distribution, or network infrastructure
  • Proven success selling to contractors, integrators, MSPs, or data center customers
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead accounts and influence large project opportunities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within DFW

Nice To Haves

  • Prior sales management or team‑lead experience
  • Experience with fiber optic solutions and high‑density data center environments
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce or equivalent)
  • BICSI, manufacturer, or datacom technical training (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the regional datacom go‑to‑market plan aligned with company growth objectives in Fort Worth and DFW
  • Identify, segment, and prioritize target customers: Structured cabling & low‑voltage contractors Managed Service Providers (MSPs) Data centers & colocation facilities Commercial & enterprise IT / facilities teams
  • Drive market share growth in key categories: Copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) Fiber optic cabling (OM3/OM4, single‑mode, MPO) Racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable management Patch panels, keystones, connectivity, and accessories
  • Own and grow a portfolio of top datacom accounts
  • Prospect new customers through outbound calls, jobsite visits, networking, and partner referrals
  • Lead solution‑based sales conversations focused on: Project BOM support Stock‑and‑release programs Kitting and pre‑termination solutions Same‑day / next‑day delivery advantages
  • Maintain a strong presence with contractors and integrators at jobsites and customer facilities
  • Work closely with key datacom manufacturers and suppliers (copper, fiber, connectivity, rack systems)
  • Lead joint sales calls, product demos, and customer training events
  • Support vendor rebate programs, growth initiatives, and market launches
  • Act as regional datacom subject matter expert for internal teams
  • Collaborate with pricing, inventory, and operations teams to ensure optimal stock levels
  • Influence inventory decisions based on local market demand
  • Support forecasting, margin management, and promotional strategies
  • Provide voice‑of‑the‑customer feedback to leadership
