This role requires expertise in Oracle and SQL Server databases, with a focus on performance optimization, data integrity, and security in mission-critical environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of database administration experience
- Minimum 3 years in team leadership role
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator
- Expert knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c and SQL Server 2016/2019
- Proficiency in PL/SQL and T-SQL development
- Active Security Clearance Required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other open-source databases
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, OCI)
- Oracle RAC and Data Guard experience
- Experience with database automation tools
- Data modeling and ETL experience

- PL/SQL, T-SQL, performance tuning

Responsibilities
- Lead database administration team supporting enterprise applications
- Manage Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments
- Design and implement database architectures and data models
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL and T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor database health and proactively address issues
- Manage database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
- Ensure database security and compliance with DoD standards
- Coordinate with application teams on database requirements
- Implement data replication and high availability solutions
- Mentor and develop junior database administrators
