About The Position

You will join a data foundation team in a large-scale connected services environment within the automotive industry, where application databases are critical to performance, availability and secure deliveries. The team manages database services used by multiple products and works closely with architects and development teams to create solutions that hold up in production.
This is a role for you if you enjoy combining classic DBA work with cloud engineering and close collaboration with product teams. You will help shape suitable database solutions, support runtime needs, and strengthen automation, quality, stability and security across the database landscape. It is an interesting opportunity to work in a technically broad environment where you can influence how database services evolve in AWS.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB in production.
• Good experience working with databases in AWS and solid cloud engineering knowledge.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and query authoring.
• Experience implementing changes in larger database environments.
• Ability to work independently and drive activities forward.
• Experience working with on-call support.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice To Haves

• Development experience in the database area.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools beyond CloudWatch.
• Experience applying best practices in continuous integration and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Oracle databases in AWS, including daily operations, tuning, capacity planning and consolidation.
• Support new development and enhancements together with product development teams, with a strong focus on SQL development and runtime support.
• Discuss database needs with different projects and guide them toward suitable technical solutions.
• Work closely with the domain architect to design new solutions and secure reliable deliveries.
• Handle traditional DBA responsibilities while also contributing to the continuous improvement of database services.
• Help drive automation and strengthen quality, stability and security for the database environment.
