About the position

The Database Operations Specialist at Overture Center for the Arts plays a crucial role in supporting the Marketing, Communications & Ticketing team by managing the MSSQL database and CRM (Tessitura). This position ensures data integrity, stewardship, and analysis to enhance customer service experiences for donors and patrons. The specialist acts as a liaison between Overture and Tessitura, advocating for data standardization and accuracy across departments while also providing technical support and training.

Responsibilities

  • Support ad hoc reporting for projects, goals, and inquiries.
  • Generate lists and reports as requested by other departments and resident organizations.
  • Ensure cross-departmental data needs are supported consistently and reliably.
  • Troubleshoot data and reporting errors and inaccuracies.
  • Present data in a meaningful way for users of varying skill levels.
  • Assure compliance with regulatory standards, PCI compliance, and software licensing.
  • Maintain and monitor standardization for data entry and system data accuracy.
  • Perform regular data maintenance, including duplicate identification and merging.
  • Support accurate collection and analysis of data from across the organization.
  • Proactively monitor Tessitura data and system use.
  • Facilitate organizational training programs for new hires and existing employees.
  • Triage support issues and determine appropriate actions for resolution or escalation.
  • Manage user permissions, control groups, and new user setup.
  • Research, plan, manage, and troubleshoot Tessitura upgrades.
  • Assist with third-party integrations with the Tessitura environment.
  • Maintain and update customizations in the Tessitura environment.
  • Monitor business processes that effectively utilize the systems.
  • Provide back-end support to Ticketing operations as needed.
  • Participate in the advancement of the JEDI mission and vision for the organization.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a CRM database, including data configuration and data hygiene.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura software strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support agency-wide personnel and end users.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding data management and security.
  • Ability to develop and present information clearly and accurately.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills in critical situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams.
