The Database Specialist is an integral member of the Development Team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Database Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of Raiser’s Edge and all related technology. This role requires someone who can effectively bridge technical database management with fundraising operations, serving as a key translator between development needs and database capabilities. This includes upkeep of donor information and records, as well as production of reports for use by the Development team and senior management. By developing procedures, the Database Specialist will ensure that best practices are followed for data integrity, effective donor financial record keeping, and analysis. The Database Specialist will conduct research and build the processes to effectively support front-line fundraisers in their pursuit of donations. This person will also actively participate in planning related to segmentation and use of variable data in direct mail and email appeals.
