About The Position

Technology is constantly changing, and our adversaries are digitally exceeding law enforcement's ability to keep pace. Those charged with protecting the United States are not always able to access the evidence needed to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism. The Government has trusted in Peraton to provide the technical ability, tools, and resources to bring criminals to justice. In response to this challenge, Peraton is seeking a talented Database Engineer (Mid) with expertise in Database Development.

Requirements

• A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
• 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; Additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• You have 3 years of experience with Data Modeling, Data warehouse architecture, implementation, and O&M.
• You have 5 years of experience using data tools including MSSQL Change Data Capture (CDC), Apache Flume, Postgres.
• You have 3 years of experience with Microsoft PowerShell and Power-BI.
• You have 5 years of experience building or maintaining high-availability, failovers, backups, scaling and clustering operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
• Use data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
• Determine data storage and optimum storage requirements.
• Prepare system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
• Evaluate, sizes, and selects technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.
• Write and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability. Implements comprehensive backup and database replication solutions.
