Our work depends on a Database Administrator joining our team to evolve and maintain network infrastructure for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.

Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation
Maintain and support of existing and future databases in all designated NNSA enclaves
Designs and builds relational databases
Performs data access analysis design, and archive/recovery design and implementation
Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database
Works in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, and metadata repository creation
Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems
Reviews and develops object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access
Provides expert knowledge for the design, development, build, analysis, evaluation, installation and administration of database management systems
Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
Database performance tuning, optimization, indexing, and implementation of industry and agency best practices
Applying agency data and security standards and developing comprehensive data dictionaries

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Database Administration, Data Architecture, Data Management, Database Design, Database Security, Data Warehouses
Security Clearance Level: DOE Q or TS
Required Skills and Abilities: Written and Oral Communication; Organization, Problem Solving, Communication, Technical Documentation, and Teamwork
