Our work depends on a Database Administrator joining our team to evolve and maintain network infrastructure for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.

  • Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation
  • Maintain and support of existing and future databases in all designated NNSA enclaves
  • Designs and builds relational databases
  • Performs data access analysis design, and archive/recovery design and implementation
  • Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database
  • Works in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, and metadata repository creation
  • Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems
  • Reviews and develops object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access
  • Provides expert knowledge for the design, development, build, analysis, evaluation, installation and administration of database management systems
  • Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
  • Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
  • Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
  • Database performance tuning, optimization, indexing, and implementation of industry and agency best practices
  • Applying agency data and security standards and developing comprehensive data dictionaries
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Database Administration, Data Architecture, Data Management, Database Design, Database Security, Data Warehouses
  • Security Clearance Level: DOE Q or TS
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Written and Oral Communication; Organization, Problem Solving, Communication, Technical Documentation, and Teamwork
