Job Description U.S. Bank is seeking a skilled Database Consultant with multi-platform and distributed database experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Provides technical leadership to the IT community on selection, design, development, and integration of multi-platform, distributed databases. Offers senior level consulting in identifying and solving complex and highly critical database issues. Functions as a resource on database management issues around policy and standards. Leads the overall design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's physical, relational, and object-oriented databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. Participates in troubleshooting and technical system support for the database programming group. Oversees and performs database installation and configuration of database parameters. Develops data architectures and database management policies and standards. Guarantees the performance integrity and quality of databases.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 8 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.
  • Extensive experience working as a Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator
  • Experience in creating table space areas, tables and views, logical and physical database design.
  • Experienced in the set-up and maintenance of database systems in a Mainframe z/OS operating systems environment: DB2.
  • Knowledge about monitoring and performance improvements.
  • Knowledge of database maintenance procedures including Load, Reorg, Imagecopy, Runstats, Recovery.
  • Proficient in the internals of a large-scale operating system.
  • Knowledge of interface with Cobol and Java programming languages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams productivity tools.
  • Strong skills in SQL tuning and database administration tools BMC and IBM.
  • Experience in Information management, Data movement tools, Query and database access tools, Object relational data management systems
  • Subject matter expert in : Database structures, Database design (Physical), Application development tools, Application delivery process, Relational databases.
