About The Position

Database Application Developer Position Summary OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a junior or mid-level software developer to join our Cortex database team. Cortex equipment management and order fulfillment software controls OPEX’s robotic automation equipment and acts as the brains of a fulfillment operation. Database interaction plays a central role in this application suite. Proficiency in this area is a core requirement for this role. This position will be responsible for designing new schemas and PL/PGSQL functions to ensure data consistency while allowing for deeply customizable business logic to meet each customer’s unique requirements. We subscribe to the philosophy of “smart database, thin clients” which places a significant portion of the application logic in the database. This is a coding position, not a DBA role. The candidate will require strong software development skills to pair with their database knowledge. This position can be based in either Plano, TX or Moorestown, NJ. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, related field, or relevant experience.
  • Technical/Engineering experience in a software development organization 0-10 yrs.
  • Experience developing, coding, and interfacing with relational databases.
  • PostgreSQL and PL/PGSQL preferred. Familiarity with other database environments is welcome as well.
  • Exceptional listening, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel when necessary (typically less than 20%).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing new products is strongly preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in Material Handling, Warehouse Automation or Industrial segment is strongly preferred.
