The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining stable development, test, reporting and production database environments. Installs, configures, implements, and monitors MS SQL Server stand-by solutions using log shipping and SQL replication methods. Maintenance and support of Microsoft SQL server software. Assists with implementation planning, database software installation, configuration, and customization as well as daily administration, capacity planning, performance tuning, and implementation of backup / recovery strategies. Provides on-call support for the timely and accurate resolution of problems for all database systems. Assists application developers with writing efficient SQL queries, Stores Procedures/DTS Packages. Prepares, executes and documents disaster recovery procedures for all database systems and coordinates recovery activities with the Disaster Recovery team.
