About the position

The Database Administrator will support critical functions for mission clients in the Intelligence Community, focusing on developing and implementing databases and database services in cloud environments. This role involves database engineering, data ingestion procedures, and SQL design, while also providing opportunities to engage in broader data science tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement databases and database services (e.g., Aurora) in the cloud (AWS, Azure)
• Perform database engineering including schema development and designing/implementing data ingestion procedures
• Conduct lightweight data engineering tasks such as cleaning and conditioning data from data calls and existing external/stand-alone databases
• Design and implement SQL as part of database creation, maintenance, and in response to ADHOC query needs
• Design and build specialized tools utilizing the database to generate custom products including document automation
• Contribute to other data science tasks beyond database needs, depending on candidate interest and capabilities

Requirements

• Database administration experience, including cloud-based platforms
• Working knowledge of data and ETL topics
• Experience with Cloud DevOps (AWS, Azure)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for the audience
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, multi-task environment and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
