Trax USA CORP is currently recruiting for an experience Database Administrator to work alternating shifts between 1st shift (8a-5p) and 2nd shift (3p - 12a) with our Cloud team. The Database Administrator is a vital member of the IT Cloud team, working very closely with, Cloud Engineers, Developers, stakeholders, business sales, InfoSec teams and Customers. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing the operation, support, configuration, and maintenance of our Database Cloud and/or On-Prem infrastructure. This role is a core role of the IT Team and is accountable for database systems and processes critical to the successful operation of the IT department.

  • Maintain database security and integrity for both Corporate and customer infrastructure.
  • Leads efforts to define strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to preserve the integrity and security of company data resources.
  • Troubleshoot database problems and implement corrective measures as required.
  • Adhere to and promote cybersecurity best practices within the team and in compliance with company policies.
  • Manage all database infrastructure including software upgrades and patching applications.
  • Work with the Engineering team to assist in designing, building, testing, and implementing database solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation of environment and database configurations.
  • Maintain process documentation, workflow, and architectural diagrams.
  • Support system and development engineers on their implementations.
  • Analyze and classify complex change requests.
  • Identify and documents possible systems enhancements.
  • Perform post incident reviews of all major incidents and determining actions items required to avoid similar issues/minimize downtime for future incidents.
  • Provides Level 1 and 2 production support.
  • Strong track record of service delivery using ITIL processes.
  • Deliver resolutions to service management incidents in a timely manner.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Understand the product and analytics and drive requirements that stakeholders needs.
  • Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Monitor on-prem/cloud database infrastructure to identify areas of improvement, reliability, cost savings, etc.
  • Perform Disaster recovery testing and implement proper disaster recovery solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud standards, best practices, and organizational capability.
  • Research and drive adoption of cloud-native database technologies.
  • Comply with GDPR & other Privacy Laws. Avoid/Prevent the export or access of data from Countries that protect such data from being accessed or transferred out of the country/state of jurisdiction of the data.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • BS/BA Degree in computer Science, Business, or related field required.
  • AWS Database Specialty certified.
  • Oracle Certified Professional – Oracle Database SQL
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Server Technologies and tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols including and not limited to TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SFTP, SSH· Knowledge of IT concepts such as DB design, DB layout, DB structures, DB stored procedures, DB tables and DB Optimization· Strong understanding of On-Prem/Cloud Technologies with focus on AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience – architecting, designing, developing, and deploying database solutions.·
  • Experience in MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
  • Experience working with Windows Server 2019/2022· Experience working with Linux/CentOS/RedHat/Amazon Linux 2· Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.·
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to set own goals and manage towards them.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other team members.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work on a rotation schedule to provide SLA-time-based coverage to our customers.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally as needed.
