The Database Administrator plays a vital role in managing and supporting complex database environments. This position ensures the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise databases that underpin mission-critical maintenance operations. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.

  • Support the administration and operation of computerized databases.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of databases on appropriate systems.
  • Help create and configure databases for data warehousing applications.
  • Assist with creation and management of Indexes, Clusters, Snapshots, and Views.
  • Support monitoring and adjustment of Rollback Segments and Data File Size.
  • Write basic SQL update queries and contribute to data management tasks.
  • Maintain and update data dictionaries as fields and structures change.
  • Document all data corrections and maintain logs of changes.
  • Assist with monitoring database performance metrics.
  • Support regular database backup and recovery operations.
  • Maintain documentation of procedures and configuration settings.
  • Work under general supervision to ensure database functionality and support.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) to the RavenTek Program Manager by the deadline provided.
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Travel on an as needed basis up to 10%.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Possess basic knowledge of database concepts, structures, and best practices.
  • Familiar with SQL fundamentals and scripting.
  • Understanding of database backup, recovery, and monitoring principles.
  • Knowledge of data security and documentation practices.
  • Understand basic DoD security and database management expectations.
  • Capable of following technical procedures and supporting secure data environments.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn in a technical environment.
  • Ability to follow procedures and contribute to database documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration or related technical role.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
  • Entry-level database certifications, desired.
  • Security+ or other DoD 8570-compliant certification, desired.
