The ideal candidate for the Database Administrator role should possess extensive experience with DB2 Version upgrade planning, coordination, and implementation for current and future releases, with an ideal background in version 13 upgrades. This position requires deep knowledge of how DB2 for z/OS operates at the system level, coupled with a solid background in both Systems and DBA functions. The role involves performance tuning, software maintenance and upgrades, contingency recovery, system backup and recovery, and monitoring DB2 system-level performance issues. Expert-level DB2 & z/OS Systems troubleshooting skills are essential, along with strong diagnostic capabilities across all DB2-related issues. The administrator will assist various agencies with DB2 problems, quickly resolve outages, and work directly with IBM to address product issues and open cases. Proficiency in QMF v7 through V13, IBM DB2 TOOLS though V1310, IBM DataStudio, Platinum Tools / Omegamon for DB2, CA Insight, Detector & DB2 Tools, and COBOL is required.
