The Database Administrator I supports the design, development, and maintenance of relational databases used for data storage and processing. This role assists with data warehouse implementation strategies, data acquisition processes, and archive recovery activities. Working under supervision, the position applies established guidelines and standard practices to ensure database integrity, performance, and compliance with organizational standards. Requirements

  • Approximately two (2) to six (6) years of experience in database administration or related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts and data management principles.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse and data acquisition processes.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and technical standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and guidance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required;OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and building relational databases for data storage and processing.
  • Support development of strategies for data warehouse implementation and data acquisition.
  • Perform archive recovery and database maintenance activities.
  • Clean and maintain databases by removing or deleting obsolete data.
  • Evaluate new data sources for adherence to organizational quality standards and integration requirements.
  • Apply commonly used database concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Monitor database performance and report issues to senior administrators.
  • Support testing and validation of database changes.
  • Maintain documentation related to database structures and procedures.
  • Work under immediate supervision and follow established technical guidelines.
