The successful Database Administrator: Ensures appropriate linkages to existing databases and data processing systems. Ensures adequate security and recovery procedures are included in all data base designs. Directs the training of user groups in the protocols involved in updating and accessing the database. Monitors database transactions to ensure correct usage of the database. Provides technical expertise on the database system to user and data processing personnel. Will have experience with development in Microsoft Access and Excel products. Will assist in the development of operational contingency plans for the recovery of existing and emerging databases in case of catastrophic failure at any The contractor shall assist in the restoration of the database in the event of an outage. Shall ensure all related documentation to the database Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current, relevant, and updated with current process and techniques. Will provide second level technical assistance to database issues at Army, Air Force, and Navy COMSEC accounts and support to system operators in identifying and resolving data discrepancies. Shall query the database to produce and provide briefings and reports on database management. Will support Operator Regression Testing (ORT) and General System Test (GST), and other tests by serving as a DBA in the test environment, by assisting operators participating in the test, and by performing DBA - specific testing Other duties include but are not limited to data manipulation, report generation, and task automation.
