About The Position

The Database Administrator III applies current technology in providing database design and administration for one or more medium to large-sized databases. Under general guidance, provide business application solutions. Must have a thorough understanding of hardware/software and communication environments such as: client/server technology, host/mainframe technology, IS, and related peripheral equipment. Specifies proper types of file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures. Advises project teams on the design of moderately complex databases (e.g., schema and subschema details). Defines specialized aspects of user's database administrator documentation. Performs detailed comparisons of various database systems. Develops backup and archival policies and procedures. Configures storage systems software to meet requirements. Performs administration tasks (installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, patching, and performance tuning). Implements software solutions for performance enhancement, operator interface, and increased user capability. A significant degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field (may substitute equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Oracle DBA certification.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in software programming and database management.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with MVC framework experience; STRUTS, SPRING MVC, JSF
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with PL/SQL, Objective C
  • Experience with database performance and tuning.
  • Advanced proficiency level with MS Office products.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a public trust clearance or higher.
  • U. S. Citizenship required per government contract.
  • Remote employees must reside in the following states: AK, AL, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, NC, OH, OK, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA.
