Database Administrator is responsible for management and maintenance of variety of database environments. They are required to maintain adherence to the data management policy and ensure that databases are secure, backed up, and optimized.

  • Assists in database support activities
  • Manage database access
  • Be available for on-call support as needed
  • Performs standard database maintenance and administration tasks
  • Uses database management system software and tools to collect performance statistics
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
  • Develop processes for optimizing database security
  • Develops and configures tools to enable automation of database administration tasks
  • Monitors performance statistics and create reports
  • Identifies and investigates complex problems and issues and recommends corrective actions
  • Performs routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database and related products
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, programming, or a related field
  • Experience of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Excellent knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience with variety of database technologies (including MySQL, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and other integration, reporting and analytical tools
  • Experience of working with on-prem and cloud based database technologies
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
  • Need to be conversant with structured query language (SQL) and relevant database technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT
  • Understand coding and service management
  • Good communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills
