About The Position

The University of Utah is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Analyst to join the University Analytics & Institutional Reporting (UAIR) team. This role involves designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining data transformation pipelines. The analyst will work independently and collaboratively to enhance data strategies and contribute to the team's continuous improvement efforts. The position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings, and is aimed at individuals who are passionate about data and its impact on strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (4-6 years in a related area).
• Advanced Oracle SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts.
• Experience in managing complex data transformation projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Professional interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical groups.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PeopleSoft data, Tableau, Lucid Chart, or similar ERP systems.
• Master's degree in MIS or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in relational database or data warehouse programming.
• Experience in data reporting and analysis from large relational databases.
• Knowledge of higher education administration and data processes.
• Business systems analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Research source data structures, relationships, content and quality to support requirements discovery.
• Design, build, implement, and maintain data transformation pipelines and reporting structures.
• Automate and manage data quality audits and correction processes.
• Write complex SQL queries to support analytics needs.
• Develop and maintain data and process documentation, including data flow diagrams and definitions.
• Share ideas and knowledge, and collaborate with team members to explore new methods and tools.
