About The Position

The Data Tech I supports the operational components of the reporting system; working in collaborating with clinical teams to generate, review, and deliver results reports and associated materials following genetic testing. Initiates the reporting process and is responsible for a variety of activities to support the generation and delivery of reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Enjoys a team environment.
  • Able to prioritize and complete a variety of tasks.
  • Follows lab safety protocols.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with some tasks requiring extended time standing and walking around for pick ups.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to analyze and organize complex information.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone for customer support and adhering to a script.

Responsibilities

  • Process hardcopy and electronic data such as:
  • Prepare patient records and test results for clinical review.
  • Assemble report packages and initiate electronic and physical delivery.
  • Image documents and maintain electronic records.
  • Perform technical and quality control tasks such as:
  • Help identify and resolve data inconsistencies, discrepancies, and process exceptions that occur outside of normal process.
  • Track production flow metrics.
  • Provide customer support such as:
  • Communicate with providers to verify receipt of upgraded amended test results.
  • Contribute to department continuous improvement program to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with laboratory’s technical, administrative, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to good documentation practices.
  • Additional responsibilities as defined by supervisor.
