About The Position

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Senior Systems Analyst for Encounters. The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the agency's Integrated Care Division. Located in beautiful Central Virginia, the Richmond area puts you just 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia Beach and Washington DC. Requirements

  • Considerable experience ensuring data quality, integrity, and performance analysis.
  • Considerable understanding of various technologies and systems development practices for managing and utilizing healthcare information.
  • Considerable experience effectively motivating and leading teams to achieve division and agency goals.
  • Extensive experience managing the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of data storage systems within a warehouse infrastructure.
  • Extensive programming skills in SAS or SQL language.
  • Considerable experience applying programming tools and reporting techniques for analyzing healthcare claims data.
  • Considerable knowledge ensuring compliance with necessary federal and state rules, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Considerable experience in meeting deadlines.
  • Considerable experience working with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Care Division (IC) subject matter expert for encounters.
  • Serve as the primary representative for the creation of the data analytics solution to measure encounter completeness.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and monitor all Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) encounter submissions for IC contractors.
  • Ensure compliance of encounter submissions with all CCC Plus contractual requirements and with all current EDI and HIPAA standards.
  • Develop and maintain innovative and effective procedures to assess vendor submission compliance and encounter data quality.
