The Data Systems Manager is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of enterprise data and governance practices for the organization. The Manager assists in building an enterprise-wide data strategy, enabling business via effective use of data while minimizing privacy, security, operational and reputational risks associated with data.

  • Develop and implement the vision for industry best in class data and data governance guardrails and processes to enable delivery of critical priorities through leveraging data at scale.
  • Evaluate system integrations, data flows, data models, data architecture, and understand how cross-functional and cross-subsidiary teams consume and activate data to plan out data integration and data sharing environments.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across business and technology teams to understand data needs and contribute to a higher level of data adoption and usage.
  • Provide master data reports, analyses, identify data quality vulnerability points and provide recommendations to plan for data quality practice and management.
  • Prioritize, define, document and operationalize data governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate across business departments and IT to establish common business processes to drive data consistency.
  • Partner with business owners to define data quality requirements and metrics.
  • Define the Critical Data Elements (CDE's) across the enterprise-focusing on the most critical data assets first, this requires coordination and collaboration across all business lines.
  • Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of data and information technology.
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and training to Data Governance and IT staff.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening).
  • 12+ years of business and/or IT data experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience with strong leadership and management skills preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL and public cloud-based data storage systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with business-objects based reporting systems, report schedulers, automation and execution agents.
  • 5+ years of experience with data modeling languages (python, F# or similar).
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong business leadership, influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and experience in the financial industry.
