Data Systems Developer Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Sales Initiatives & Analytics team is seeking an Experienced Data Systems Developer with strong programming competencies and experience in data architecture and back-end development to join our growing team in Renton, WA . This role will focus on architecting and developing robust data solutions to support critical business applications. The successful candidate will work with SQL Server databases, design and implement database models, and develop Python and REST API services to enable seamless access to key commercial sales and contractual data for senior leadership. This position requires a versatile data engineer who is comfortable wearing many hats, from database design to API development and production support. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, data scientists, and other IT professionals to deliver scalable solutions that transform how BCA manages and accesses its most important commercial sales and contractual data assets. Position Responsibilities: Architect, design, and implement SQL Server database models to support co-location of commercial sales and contractual data. Develop and maintain Python-based back-end services and REST APIs to enable secure and efficient data access. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across all database and API services. Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance as needed. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. Automate build, test, and deploy pipelines using modern DevOps tools. Document technical designs, processes, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Renton, WA location.

  • Architect, design, and implement SQL Server database models to support co-location of commercial sales and contractual data.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based back-end services and REST APIs to enable secure and efficient data access.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across all database and API services.
  • Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance as needed.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing software with a focus on back-end and data architecture
  • Experience working with SQL Server or similar relational databases (design, development, optimization)
  • Experience developing back-end services (e.g. Python, C#, Java)
  • Experience building RESTful APIs
  • Experience with version control and development tools (e.g., Git, Jira)
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with full-stack software development
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience with API development using JSON for data exchange
  • Experience with data-caching solutions (e.g., Redis)
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, RedHat OpenShift)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience
