GDMS is hiring for a Data Systems Architect with the proficiency required to design, implement, and maintain high bandwidth and large-scale storage systems. The position requires expertise in designing scalable and robust data architectures that can handle high volumes of data streams and user requests. The role involves managing and optimizing various database technologies, implementing data integration techniques, ensuring high availability and performance of data systems, and developing data security measures. The Data Systems Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data systems with business needs and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

  • Design scalable and robust data architectures.
  • Manage and optimize various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Implement and maintain data integration techniques and tools.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of data systems.
  • Develop and implement data security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data systems with business needs.
  • Conduct and present at in-development reviews with the government customer.
  • Analyze and advocate for system design decisions that address user requirements.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data systems.
  • Oversee data migration and transformation projects.
  • Monitor and maintain data storage solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and other data processing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing tasks.
