About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Steward III opening for our client. Location: Buffalo, NY Duration: 7 months Overview: We are seeking a Data Steward III to support a Customer 360 Platform Enablement team focused on building high-quality customer data assets. This role is ideal for a data-curious professional with strong SQL expertise and a passion for data quality, governance, and analytics.

Requirements

Advanced SQL (complex queries, joins, performance tuning)
Data profiling, debugging, and data quality analysis
Metadata management, data lineage, and governance tools
Experience with Jira and Confluence (Agile environment)
Strong understanding of PII/PCI data classification
5+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management
Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience querying large datasets
Experience with data governance and metadata tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in Agile environments
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Customer 360 or customer data platforms
Background in financial services or regulated industries
Familiarity with data catalogs and lineage tools

Responsibilities

Identify, source, and validate accurate data fields for business and data product needs
Translate business requirements into technical data specifications
Maintain metadata, data lineage, and transformation logic
Perform data profiling, debugging, and root cause analysis
Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues
Develop and validate data quality rules
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for data products
Classify data assets in compliance with regulatory standards (PII/PCI)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Customer 360 data initiatives
