About The Position

As a Data Standards Specialist at Airgas, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating material master data, pricing compliance, and vendor management for all Airgas Hardgoods vendors. This role involves setting up new materials, resolving pricing discrepancies, and ensuring that all data aligns with vendor standards in SAP. You will also coordinate pricing updates and maintain professional customer service levels with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Inventory Control, Pricing Administration, or Data Management.
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Business or related discipline may substitute for experience.
  • Intermediate level personal computer skills, including Access and Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Detailed knowledge of the welding and/or safety industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Material Master and Non-Maintained Material Master for Hardgoods vendors.
  • Set up new primary and secondary materials and make necessary updates.
  • Analyze and resolve pricing issues, including discrepancies and confirmations from vendors.
  • Resolve material set-up issues, including invalid part numbers and discontinued items.
  • Retrieve product information from vendors and align it with SAP standards.
  • Review and input material changes submitted by management.
  • Coordinate and implement pricing updates for maintained vendors.
  • Meet departmental goals and objectives set by management.
  • Maintain professional customer service levels with team members and customers.
