About The Position

Position Title Data Specialist for Migrant and ML Education Programs Reports To Dr. Dia Thomas, Director, dmcollins @bladen.k12.nc.us , 910-862-4136 Evaluation Performance will be evaluated by supervisor on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the responsibilities and duties of the position Preferred Education, Training and Experience: High School graduation and two years of work experience Ability to speak, read, and write clearly and concisely in English and Spanish Ability to translate, both orally and in writing, a variety of materials from English to Spanish and Spanish to English to collaborate with schools, agencies, and local agricultural employers to recruit and serve eligible children. Experience with migratory families Strong computer skills including word process, data input, translation software, email, and spread sheets Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain student record files for the Migrant and Multilingual Education Programs Manage data systems, generate reports & submit reports to NC Department of Instruction Input and upload student information into several data systems within the district and state Collaborate with Migrant recruiting staff on the identification of families and students Review Migrant Education certificates of eligibility for completeness and accuracy Attend local, state, and/or national training sessions Greets and assists staff, families, and community members with prompt and courteous responses on behalf of the Migrant & Multilingual Programs Collaborate with Migrant school staff and assist with new students & withdrawn students Assist with supply inventory, report needs, and submit requisitions for supplies needed Assist with Migrant summer camp preparation, registration, and documentation Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, write, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Requirements
