Day in the Life of a Data Solutions Architect/Engineer Crossroads’ Enterprise Data & Analytics is a team whose mission is to enable faster, optimized decisions for the entire business. We do this by collaboratively designing solutions and generating insights to cross-functional business problems. We focus on data, reporting, and analytical solutions to drive stronger, strategic decision-making. The Data Solutions Architect/Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and analytical solutions that empower business decision-making. This role will focus on developing and maintaining Azure Data Factory pipelines, SQL Managed Instances, integrating disparate data sources to support a data-driven organization. The Data Solutions Architect/Engineer will partner with Analytics’ team members to solve complex data challenges while designing and implementing data processing and transformation-at-scale, being accountable for the end-to-end development experience. Design, maintain code for, and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric to integrate and transform data from disparate sources. Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources, including cloud, on-premises, and third-party APIs. Design, implement, and optimize query performance, data processing efficiency, and data models for Power BI reporting within Azure/Fabric stack. Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data assets. Deliver complex projects on time, proactively identifying and mitigating gaps and/or risks. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective solutions. Support Data Analytics team members to ensure quality and end-user satisfaction. Manage data integration and ETL/ELT processes, including centralized logging and alerting. Utilize Azure DevOps and CI/CD principles for data pipeline management, deployment, version control, and configuration changes. Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks, performance issues, and production support issues via proactive identification, performance tuning, and root cause analyses for data-related issues. Combine a deep understanding of Microsoft technologies with experience to define and implement data architecture strategies that align with business goals and technology roadmaps. Create and maintain technical and functional documentation for solutions, including technical specifications, test plans, transformations, training materials, and team best practices. Foster a problem-solving culture that resolves issues timely and through collaboration. Location This role can be remote but will need to travel into the corporate office as needed (Greenville, SC).
