About The Position

Peraton is seeking to hire an experienced Data Scientist for its' Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) program with the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). This role is critical to advancing data-driven decision-making for USTRANSCOM by developing and refining analytical tools that enhance operational efficiency across global transportation networks. Location: Remote; ability to come on-site when and as needed. In this role, you will: Design and implement business intelligence dashboards powered by advanced data science algorithms, including predictive analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other data science methods. Train and test data science algorithms and provide documented test results pertaining to their accuracy and applicability. Analyze data to identify trends and relationships. Map and analyze data across secure and non-classified defense networks. Continuously improve existing tools, making them faster, more effective, accurate, and efficient. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among users, subject matter experts, and leadership. Provide insight and expertise to the team when developing processes to manage the lifecycle of data science tools. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree and 6 years, or PhD with 3 years.
  • Experience with development and implementation of enterprise-level data science solutions.
  • Knowledge of various machine learning methods including classification, regression, time-series forecasting, neural networks, deep learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Demonstrated creative thinker with a mission-minded focus.
  • Possess a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to persist in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (interim clearance required to commence task work)

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with Advana and/or DataBricks.
