About The Position

Our consultants on the Defense & Security AI & Data team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science: from data engineering and pipeline development, to data visualization and business intelligence (BI) dashboarding, to predictive analytics leveraging machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models. Our services allow our clients to define their data strategy, enable mission-critical insights and data-driven decision making, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust, and improve operational effectiveness. Belong to a collaborative team dedicated to AI and data science. Focus on client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development in data science, data analytics, and/or data engineering. Work as a data science and analytics professional in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Continue career development in data science and analytics software, methods, and consulting. Operate successfully on remote projects as well as hybrid on-site projects in the DC metro area.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance. Individuals with an active Public Trust clearance are preferred.
  • B.S. or B.A. in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative/computational discipline.
  • THREE (3) or more years of relevant professional experience doing analysis OR TWO (2) years of relevant professional experience doing data analysis with a relevant M.S./M.A. degree.
  • Experience in Python and/or R.
  • Expertise in BI software of choice (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience leading data analytic activities from initial requirements gathering to successful solution delivery.
  • Experience manipulating large data sets and using them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Ability to support on-site and hybrid projects in the DC metro area

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geospatial analytic toolsets such as ArcGIS.
  • Ability to clean, aggregate, organize data from multiple sources and transfer this information to data storage systems.
  • Ability to design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models, and perform custom analysis.
  • Ability to define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information to guarantee it meets the organization's needs.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Experience with SQL for data querying and wrangling.
  • Quality control experience, including debugging and conducting Quality Assurance of new features and enhancements.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff.
  • Experience developing new and redesigning existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements.
  • Experience working with public sector clients.
  • Familiarity with federal contracting and procurement processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
