At Royal Electric Company, we provide expert electrical design, construction, and service with builders, contractors, and facility owners who value relationships, trust, expertise, and a commitment to each other towards achieving exceptional results. We are able to sustain this through our linking values of expertise, collaboration, integrity, passion, and loyalty. These values support our core purpose: to build great relationships, one project at a time! We have a current opening for a Data Scientist in our Sacramento, CA offices. The Data Scientist will assist the Royal Electric team. Success in the position is achieved through developing dashboards and KPI reporting for project managers, operations leaders, and executive leadership. The role involves supporting forecasting models related to project cost-to-complete, labor demand planning, and cash flow projections, and assisting in analyzing ERP/MRP and project management system data to identify performance trends, risk indicators, and operational bottlenecks. The Data Scientist will also support analytics initiatives tied to system implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation projects, assist in defining enterprise data standards, KPIs, and cross-functional reporting metrics, and contribute to the automation of recurring reports and manual workflows through scripting and data pipelines. Further responsibilities include supporting the development of predictive models to enhance cost forecasting, schedule adherence, procurement planning, and risk mitigation, assisting in creating early-warning indicators for project overruns or operational inefficiencies, and documenting methodologies and maintaining reproducible, well-governed analytical processes. The role also entails collaborating with Technology teams to improve data quality, consistency, and reliability across enterprise systems, supporting master data management initiatives across projects, vendors, materials, and labor categories, and assisting in developing standardized enterprise reporting definitions aligned with Finance and Operations. The Data Scientist will work directly with Construction Operations, Finance, HR, and corporate leadership to translate business needs into analytical solutions, present findings in a clear, structured format suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences, and contribute to change management efforts associated with new reporting tools and system enhancements.
