About The Position

GXM is seeking a Data Scientist to support data analysis, reporting, and model development activities in support of innovation programs for our clients. The selected candidate will apply foundational data science techniques to analyze structured and unstructured datasets and contribute to project evaluations and innovation initiatives while working under the guidance of senior technical staff. The candidate will support data preparation, analysis, and reporting efforts, contribute to the development of analytical models and workflows, and collaborate with team members to ensure analytical results are documented and communicated effectively. This is a full-time, exempt position that may be performed remotely with short-term travel as required by the project. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg, VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren, VA. About GXM GXM is a team of creative professionals focused on solving problems for end users. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Foundational experience with data science, statistics, or analytics
  • Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
  • Experience with frequent scripting language use, such as Python and R and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics
  • Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives.
  • Understanding of statistics and probability concepts
  • Strong collaboration and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools

Responsibilities

  • Apply data science techniques using Python and R
  • Use analytical tools to support innovation and evaluation programs
  • Assist in the development and analysis of taxonomies and data classification structures
  • Support ranking and scoring methods used during project evaluation processes
  • Analyze evaluator performance trends, weak signals, and technology trends across datasets
  • Support data preparation, cleaning, and transformation activities
  • Assist with development of automated workflows to process datasets
  • Produce data analysis reports and visualizations under senior guidance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable outcomes
