Project Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team and help design, build, and optimize data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud technologies, data integration tools, and advanced programming skills to support analytics and machine learning initiatives. This position will collaborate closely with DevOps engineers and program leadership to ensure that models are continuously evaluated, monitored for drift, updated efficiently, and documented with repeatable processes.

Requirements

  • Hands‑on experience with: Python, NLP libraries, ML evaluation tooling
  • Strong understanding of evaluation metrics across NLP tasks.
  • Experience working with or generating ground truth datasets.
  • Experience in LLM‑based model evaluations, RAG assessments, or benchmarking techniques.
  • Ability to design experiments, conduct error analysis, and interpret model performance trends.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with mission‑specific domains or government NLP use cases.
  • Experience with automated evaluation systems or model monitoring pipelines.
  • Familiarity with synthetic data generation tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the current model repository , including: Metadata completeness, Gaps in coverage and tracking, Task‑specific evaluation needs
  • Develop and implement evaluation metrics , ensuring alignment with mission requirements, domain-specific constraints, and enterprise policies.
  • Support evaluation criteria for model suitability, readiness, drift detection, and domain‑language performance.
  • Assist in establishing governance , including Success metrics, m odel maintenance vs. archive threshold, r eview and monitoring processes
  • Contribute to dashboard requirements, reports, and structured model evaluation documentation.
