About The Position

Aquabyte is seeking a Data Scientist to help develop and deploy new algorithms to fish farms across the world. You'll be responsible for software and machine learning model development of our on-camera and cloud software. This is a hybrid position, and we are seeking candidates who reside in the Bay Area and can commute to our San Francisco office twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will excel in both in-person collaboration and a flexible work setting.

Requirements

• BS/MS in relevant technical degree.
• 3+ years of experience with data-science.
• Strong coding ability; strong grasp of Python, SQL.
• Strong database management skills.
• Strong software engineering skills; knowledge of best practices, testing, and deployment.
• Strong data analytics & modeling skills.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with snowflake, dbt, airflow, pandas.
• Experience with Docker and cloud SW development (i.e. AWS).

Responsibilities

• Interact and manage databases and data infrastructure.
• Conduct in-depth data analytics and build statistical data inference models of biological processes.
• Develop understanding of the weight and health of individual fish and fish populations.
• Work closely alongside engineers with years of industry and academic experience.
