About The Position

QinetiQ US is seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist to apply advanced analytics techniques, develop predictive models, and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. The role involves utilizing expertise in data modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis to drive innovation and maximize the value of data assets, particularly in the context of national security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Scientist with a focus on data modeling and predictive analytics.
• Strong expertise in data modeling techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms.
• Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Experience with TensorFlow (or PyTorch), Numpy, Pandas, and other standard Data Science/ML libraries.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OCR or other computer vision techniques.
• Familiarity with NLP, Document Understanding, LLMs, GenAI.
• Experience with AWS and/or Databricks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sophisticated data models to analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business problems and predict trends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective modeling strategies.
• Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models for forecasting and risk assessment.
• Utilize machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
• Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Create compelling visualizations and reports to communicate analytical findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data science initiatives and ensure successful project outcomes.
