B&A is looking for a Data Scientist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a Data Scientist with a proven track record in intelligence support and data-driven analysis to provide direct, high-impact contributions to a mission-critical office. This position represents one of the first dedicated data science roles supporting this environment, offering the opportunity to shape analytical capabilities from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience working in intelligence providing intelligence analysis.
  • Demonstrated background in the intelligence community, with direct support to intelligence analysis and missions.
  • Senior-level experience working autonomously in high-stakes, dynamic environments.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize data processes involving large, complex, and sensitive datasets.
  • Experience delivering actionable analytical products through effective data visualization (e.g., dashboards, reports, dynamic tools).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings into operationally impactful narratives.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience building analytics capabilities in austere or newly developed environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and data architectures commonly used in government or DoD settings.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Operate independently to lead and execute advanced data science tasks in support of intelligence missions.
  • Work closely with intelligence analysts and mission stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver data-informed insights.
  • Design and implement scalable processes to manage and exploit large and complex datasets.
  • Use exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling to identify patterns, trends, and mission-relevant discoveries.
  • Develop clear, operationally relevant visualizations and dashboards that integrate seamlessly into daily intelligence workflows.
  • Support knowledge transfer and help foster a culture of data literacy across the organization.
