In this position... The automotive industry is amid significant disruption and change with an increasingly complex global supply chain, enormous amounts of capital investment towards electrification, and a digital transformation of the way large enterprises do business. The Ford Supply Chain AI Innovation group works on new challenges that arise around the world and aims to predict and mitigate the impact of any disruption. This involves building innovative solutions, be involved in system designs from data engineering, AI/ML, to UX experience, in order to precisely quantify the issues and to provide actionable insights. We are hiring a Data Scientist help build and scale the supply chain solutions via AI and classical ML methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree discipline in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of leading projects from requirement gathering to implementation details.
  • 5+ years of building AI/ML solutions and software applications.
  • Proficiency using SQL, Python (and libraries such as Flask, Dash, etc.), Javascript, git.
  • Fast learner, able to adopt new technologies and methodologies quickly.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, logistics, operations, or related fields
  • Masters Degree in in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Customer-centric mindset / prior experience in leading AI/ML product designs.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Google Cloud Platform toolchain.
  • Balanced Experience in Data Science and software engineering (building AI/ML systems).

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution - Aggregate and manage requests for assigned supply chain systems and solutions. Work with internal customers to understand their needs and requirements, and provide feasible solutions driven by AI/ML.
  • Build Systems with AI - Utilize AI and large language models to solve challenging problems ranging from solving data quality issues to applying agentic AI solutions using industry standard protocols, to solve the business needs.
  • Feature Engineering / Data Products - Build aggregations and features from Terabytes of data from different systems. Build production-ready pipelines for data preparation using BigQuery and/or other technologies such as Graph Databases.
  • Apply Machine Learning - Due to the adhoc nature of the global supply chain, build statistical and machine learning models and provide actionable insights to the business as needed. Productionize and deploy the solutions.
  • Develop Supply Chain AI Systems - In order for the business to utilize the analytical results, build web applications (using Flask/ React, Springboot, , dash, etc.) for the internal customers. Work with software engineers and architects to promote the system from proof-of-concept to production.
